County Agricultural fairs are a lot of fun, you see all of the prize food, crafts produce, and animals that everyone in the area worked hard to take care of. Let’s not forget the food, sometimes that is the best part! At the Warren County fair, they also had Hot Air Balloons which you can ride. Now I have never seen hot air balloons take off and it was a fun sight. Everyone setting up the baskets, rolling out the balloon to inflate.Which if you are riding in the balloon you have the opportunity to help in the process. Depending on the space available you will have twenty or more take off. I think at the next balloon festival that comes around I might be interested in going up in one. I am a little worried about the basket size, they seemed quite small? I hope you enjoy these images from the Warren County Farmers Fair & Hot air Balloon Festival.
No better time for a government shut down like Fourth of July Weekend. These Images were taken at Great Falls National Historical Park in Paterson, New Jersey. I am still learning about what New Jersey has to offer, it has a lot to explore but not much can be done when they close all the beach and parks.

These Panoramic images are from a resent winter hike at Cheesequake State Park. I love exploring where I live and I really miss being by the shore.

Last week after our latest snow storm I took a ride over to Echo Lake Park. It was packed with families sleigh riding, but I was able to grab this moment of solitude as I walked back to the car. I did not quite get what I was looking for but that only means hopefully I can get another chance with our next prediction of snow.
This image is from my 2nd and most recent trip to Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge is in Morris County. This refuse has a lot to offer on its 7800 acres. The Friends of Great Swamp NWR has an amazing visitors center as well as easy access trails. This particular spot was from the overlook parking lot half way between the nature center and the bluebird field. We started our hike at the wildlife observation center parking area which has a boardwalk guiding you though the wooded part of the swamps to blinds overlooking an open field. On the particular morning we ventured out there were a few reported sightings of Bald Eagles. Maybe we will get to see some next time when we hike a different trail.
Watchung Reservation is a huge park that borders five towns in New Jersey. I am slowly working on hiking through it , it might take me awhile! Spring was not quite in full bloom when I went but I was able to find some fiddle heads and cherry blossoms. In one section they have an “abandoned village” of course I was disappointed to see that the houses were boarded up but the wood was is in very unsafe conditions, if parts of the floors were there at all. I was also surprised to see that out of the ten or eleven building left four are still lived in, kind of spooky! I hope to get back now that things are blooming!!
