Great Swamp

This image is from my 2nd and most recent trip to Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge is in Morris County. This refuse has a lot to offer on its 7800 acres. The Friends of Great Swamp NWR has an amazing visitors center as well as easy access trails. This particular spot was from the overlook parking lot half way between the nature center and the bluebird field. We started our hike at the wildlife observation center parking area which has a boardwalk guiding you though the wooded part of the swamps to blinds overlooking an open field.  On the particular morning we ventured out there were a few reported sightings of Bald Eagles. Maybe we will get to see some next time when we hike a different trail.

Angel Oak

The Angel Oak is on Johns Island in South Carolina, I went to check it out on my recreant trip to the area. Wow is tree big & old!! Around 400-500 years old that is and the tree in its entirety covers around 17,200 square feet! If only trees could talk the stories this one would have.

Long Island Oceans

Long Island has a reputation for a lot of things, one of which is its amazing Beaches. Waterfront properties are one of the causes for the ridiculous housing price tags on the Island, its kind of gross. On the other hand just look at them for the most part they are beautiful to visit no matter what the season. These images are from late summer / Fall out east in the Hamptons. I had some major fun with my Lensbaby and with editing. I didn’t do anything major but I like the contrast of colors along with some of the whites being blown out. I need to get back the beach soon for a shoot I do love a salty sandy filled wander, Enjoy!

Planting Fields Arboretum

Planting Fields Arboretum is a Beautifully preserved State Park that was once the Estate of the Coe Family. If you are ever interested in seeing the rich history of Long Island this is a must see! It is located in the historic town of Oyster Bay, Late spring – early summer I would say is the best time to go. I basically grew up walking the lush grounds of the Coe mansion it is just wonderful there.

Fall in Sag Harbor, NY

Riverbend Park

The other day my Fiancé and I took a ride north to Jupiter, We decided to take a walk in Riverbend Park. The swamp is an environment that I find so enticing; that is until I see a snake that could kill you! Until that day comes, I think I will continue to play with this unique nature as an art form

Kodak Instamatic 126 Cartridge

A while ago I had found two cartridges of Kodak 126 film at my Grandmother’s house. It wasn’t but a month later I was given a Kodak Instamatic Camera, It was fate ! Developing the film on the other hand is another story, I had to mail it away and it took forever!!!  But finally here are a few….

Simple is Best

My summer this year was full of what felt like more downs than ups and it was over in the blink of an eye. I never got to do all the goals I wanted to , but I still have some time before winter sets in and I have to travel south. These three images I shot on Shelter Island are quite simple I know and yet they are extremely tranquil to me at the same time. The beach for me as I am sure it is for a lot of people is my escape, my meditation, my way to step away from it all.

Admiring Nature

I spent my day yesterday roaming around Downtown West Palm Beach and playing a few holes of golf in Wellington. While doing so I was attracted to all of the different plants I walked past. There is just something about the shape, textures, and colors of the plants and trees that thrive in Florida that I find interesting. Various kinds of Palms, Flowers and my favorite the Banyan Tree. The root system is what draws me to it the most I believe as well as the size they can reach. I would like to have one some day!
